The Purpose Built Table
The New English Quilter is designed to clamp to any table so skip this page if you already have a suitable table. Since many machine quilters were struggling to find the right table, we decided to make a purpose built one. We needed a versatile table – able to extend to each of the frame sizes. Consequently, we made the basic 6 foot table and created sturdy 2 foot extensions to accommodate the 8 and 10 foot versions. This photo shows the basic table with a 2 foot extension on the right – giving the 8 feet of table space needed for the 8 foot NEQ frame.
As everyone comes in different sizes, we chose to cut the height of the table legs to fit each quilter. That way everyone could work at their personal ideal height. The legs also come with adjustable feet so that, no matter how wonky your floors, you’ll be able to get a level working surface.
Finally, we made the table light enough so that the gals could carry it round and set it up yet heavy enough to absorb the sewing machine vibrations.

The sturdy two foot extensions can be added at any time for £35 each.
The larger two foot 4 inch extensions to accommodate 10 ‘ 7″ frame are £40 each
If space allows, I add an extension on the side of the frame as it gives me extra space to keep various needles and threads near to hand as I’m quilting.
